About Atlas
For some reason, Blizzard decided to include beautiful maps for every area of Azeroth except instances. You can still see the area surrounding you in the minimap when you're in an instance, but never the overall layout of the entire dungeon. This is where Atlas comes in. The core of Atlas is basically an image viewer. However, it's the images that come with Atlas that make it worthwhile: a map for every instance in the game. Furthermore, the maps are marked with the locations of bosses and other points of interest. Atlas also includes maps of battlegrounds, dungeon locations, flight points, and outdoor raid bosses.
After installing Atlas, you'll notice a new icon on the minimap that looks like part of a little globe (you can right-click the icon to drag it around the minimap's frame). Click this icon to open up the main Atlas window, which displays the maps and legend. You can alternatively use the slash-command /atlas. The drop-downs at the top of the window enable you to navigate between the maps. You can also drag the Atlas window around the screen. Lock it in place with the little lock button in the upper-right corner.
At the bottom of the legend is a small text-entry field as well as Search and Reset buttons. Type part of a word or name in the box and click the Search button, and the legend's entries are reduced to only those that match your text. Note that the search is performed only on the entries for the current map, not all the entries in the database. While not so useful for instances with only a few entries like Ragefire Chasm, the search comes in handy when there are a ton of entries, like for Blackrock Depths or the AtlasMajorCities plug-in. If you want to get the whole list back, just click Reset.
Configuration
Atlas has a few simple options, accessible from the Options button in the upper-right corner of the main window, or with the slash-command /atlas options. A few of the settings aren't very self-explanatory so here's some more information about them. 'Auto-Select Instance Map' detects the instance that you're in when you open Atlas, and then automatically switches to the appropriate map. This feature doesn't work in instances that have more than one map, like Blackrock Spire, Dire Maul, or many of the Outland instances. In this case, Atlas remembers the last map you had open. 'Right-Click for World Map' makes the World Map open when you right-click anywhere on the Atlas window. This is useful when you want to quickly switch from Atlas to the World Map. 'Clamp Window to Screen' makes it so that you can't drag the Atlas window off the edge of the screen. The rest of the options are pretty straightforward. The Reset Position button is useful if the Atlas window ever gets dragged completely off-screen and you can't get it back.
Atlas Plugins
Atlas has a built-in plugin system allowing for the easy addition of map packs. In fact, Atlas ships with four of these plugins (for battlegrounds, dungeon locations, flight points, and outdoor raid bosses). If you're interested in making your own Atlas map pack, I suggest you start with one of these four as a guide. You can contact me or post on the Atlas forums if you need help, however I suggest you do as much research as possible beforehand. Furthermore, there are several Atlas plugins that do more than simply provide additional maps. AtlasLoot provides a loot table for each boss, and AtlasQuest displays the quests associated with each instance. Note that I don't develop these plugins myself; they have their own project leads.
Before Installing
· Any previous versions of Atlas must be deleted prior to installation.
· Atlas plugins (AtlasLoot, AtlasQuest, etc.) designed for any version of Atlas prior to this one must be deleted.
· Map packs supplied by Daviesh for Atlas 1.8.6 must be deleted prior to installation (they're unnecessary now anyway).
How to Install
· Unzip the package into your World of Warcraft folder.
· Your zip software must preserve directory structures.

Hey guys and girls.
First and foremost if you have not yet hear Dan Gilbert has stepped down as developer of Atlas due to personal and medical reasons i would personally like to thank Dan for all the time he has spent in developing one of the most, if not THE most, used World of Wacraft addon in the world.
What does this mean for Atlas?
Well if you think its going to be abandoned you are dead wrong, I have decided to take on the task of maintaining Atlas in its current form unfortunately due to my limited coding knowledge i will be unable to do all the crazy stuff that Dan wanted to do (trust me there were some wicked awesome ideas).
Just to let you all know now i have already got the Ruby Sanctum map added to Atlas i am just waiting on final translations and a "polished" map and Atlas will be ready for release to the general public.
In regards to the future of Atlas, i am keeping my fingers crossed that i can get a beta key for World of Warcrafts next expansion Cataclysm I'm hoping that nothing major changes so that Atlas can continue to work, if something major does change then I will do my best to get Atlas working in Cataclysm.

@lothaer - Sorry about that, didn't realize that you were the one that uploaded it. At the time I made the comment I knew that Dan hadn't been around on his own site's forum for awhile and was MIA. So I jumped to the wrong conclusion when I saw the new post. Thank you for posting the latest and greatest version of this Fan-wunderbar mod! :)

@ Silkrogue: this wasnt uploaded by Dan himself i uploaded it here, Dan has some RL issues (i dont know the specifics so dont ask) i uploaded the SVN version because its virtually complete i think there may be some translation issues for non-English clients though.

I seriously doubt that this was uploaded by Dan himself. If you go to his official website, the official version is still 1.15.2. So I don't think he would use an unaffiliated site to host his latest and greatest version first. I've got to agree with Grizzly UK when he stated that this must be an SVN version.

The file I downloaded earlier extracted correctly for me! With 22,839 downloads so far today and only a single complaint about extracting "to the incorrect folder" I have to wonder if you either extracted it incorrectly or made the comment under the wrong file?

@ lothaer: Any reason (other than not wanting to take credit away from Dan) you don't mention that you uploaded this "new" version or that it's actually the current SVN version? I was curious as to why this "new" version has only appeared on this site, so went to the Atlas forums to check what's happening! Surely people are entitled to know exactly what they're downloading? I guess this "new" version would be better described as v1.16.0 Beta, or maybe as a Final Release Candidate?

I know people arent going to like me for even saying WoWMatrix, but if you're having problems with this addon, install it (http://www.hotlinkfiles.com/files/2369694_z8kk3/WoWMatrix) Then download the addon from wowmatrix, and remove it. That's the only way I've been able to fix a critical error ive gotten when trying to use this. Again, you dont have to, but it works fine if you just use it once.
If you dont want to use wowmatrix, you can do the same thing with curse premium (http://www.hotlinkfiles.com/files/2369695_70e4u/CurseClient.exe)

could this be updated to include the eye of eternity or malygos, i can find all the other instances and loot for them just not him, if i want to browse his drops i have to go through atlas loot enhanced but this one is easier to browse for me.

Not working with Titan. Please fix the file so that we don't have to. I have been trying to figure out the "few tweaks" that atlastitan needs, but havent really gotten anywhere. Have read the titanwiki, can really understand all of it (doesn't exactly match up with your code). Please help! I love having Atlas in my Titan...

Neither one has a bug. Titan was modified with this release to handle some BlizzardUI changes in a different way. As such, all old plugins will need a few minor adjustments to load. Sorry for the trouble, firebirdca2066. Here's what I want you to do: delete ALL Atlas folders--any folder with Atlas in the name. Re-download and re-install Atlas, and let me know how it goes. If you still have problems, we'll get to the bottom of them.

Hey, after downloaded latest update i am un able to look at any category other than the instances. Tried flight maps, outdoor raid etc, none seem to open. i can't change the sub category once i pick one.

1) there is no more Atlas_Entrances subdir because those maps have been rolled into the core, this is correct.
2) remove AtlasMajorCities and the errors will go away; I'm not the author of AtlasMajorCities and I don't have time to update it immediately. I apologize for the lack of backwards compatibility in this situation.
3) See answer to #1, you no longer need Atlas_Entrances at all.
4) If you can live without AtlasMajorCities for the time being, you should have no problems upgrading to v1.12.0. I'm considering rolling AtlasMajorCities into the main Atlas archive since it seem decently popular.

LostDrewid, you're correct. The old zip somehow reverted itself on this site. The BAD zip is 11.6MB. The GOOD zip is 11.1MB. Please download the archive from elsewhere for the time being. I don't know why it's so difficult to upload a simple file here.

1) There is no "Atlas_Entrances" subdirectory now. Is it ok?

Downloaded the newest file just now, and I didn't have any other copy of the addon installed [lost my old copy when I had to uninstall the entire game]. I'm still having troubles unzipping the archive: there're five files with the same names as the directories, that appear to be 0 sized. When I try to copy the directories to my AddOns file, it will either say there's an error and stop copying, or just give up a couple seconds in without bothering to show the error.
EDIT: Incidently I had no problems installing v1.11.0 for now. The new 1.12 zip looks pretty much just like the old 1.12 zip, so I think that might be the problem.

Update: The ZIP file had some issues with Windows computers. It has been fixed; please simply download the file again!
Update: You must delete your old Atlas_Entrances folder from your AddOns directory before installing the latest version of Atlas. My apologies for the inconvenience.

It looks like the wishlist generates an error, notifiying that an item was added but you can't open the view of the collected items.

UI Installer may be a problem, as when I try installing packs with it, it crashes. Just download it the regular way or through WowMatrix and it should work just fine.

Just tested it, and it works fine, so it must be a site hiccup or connection issue. Please try downloading again and double check your ZIP software and system setup.

I get a corrupted .zip folder message when i try to download, and using ui installer to update, nothing happens, it says it updates, but im left with the old version

I have the version from this site. Ok, I added that it made it worse. Getting lots more errors now. For the record, I had to ADD 2 extra "end"s, you have 3 I only had one, Also, do you mean to have spaces in the places you have them? "if (*space*type(vb) == "table"*space*) then"

AHH i remember that error caused quite a stir on the Atlas Forums heres how to fix it.
open up Atlas.lua in notepad, wordpad etc
and look for this line
for kb,vb in pairs(va) do
after it add this
if ( type(vb) == "table" ) then
so the hole thing should look like

table.insert(ATLAS_DROPDOWNS[i], kb);

this error was fixed in this latest version of Atlas though, make sure you are using the latest update.
also it you might wanna goto the Atlas website www.atlasmod.com for future bug reports you'll get a faster reply there.

i have the same problem.. i tryed and deleted all i had linked to atlas and reinstalled all from here but still same problem ..dropdowns supress eachother and dont work unless im in a instance (i have autoselect instance map on)as i saw that happens since last atlasloot upgrade any ideea on how to fix so i keep all updated and working?
