I like this addon especially when I need to track the active reputation. However there are problems. I am using version 2.0.5 with a fresh install. First with just having the Reputation Bar active, I cannot position the bar. No manner of reseting or activating the Parent Bar option can I grab the bar and move it. Also I notice the bar sits on top of the bags when I have the bank open. Because of this this addon isn't usable at the moment. I hope for a fix as this is the only addon I could find that uses the Reputation bar rather than other rep bar mods that don't.

Actually, I've had some major success with the main problems! I'm still removing the old code, and there's still some problems I'm trying to iron out, but it seems to work correctly about 92% of the time now!

Well I logged on this morning and now my reported problem cleared itself up even after I had logged on and off last night beofre reporting it. No I hadn't deleted the SV portion of Barmath and was going to try that but first I logged on to double check. Oh well one of them mysteries. Thanks for keeping this mod updated.

Sometimes the options window will not fully load. I'm not sure why... Usually logging out then back in will fix it. Not so much with ReloadUI... But I'll double check some things and see if I can repeat the problem and fix it.
Did you also wipe the save variables?

Ok using the beta build here. I first wiped the old folders and installed the beta fresh. The Check box for Always Show Text for both the Reputation and Experience options windows are not working (I don't use the Money bar). At the moment my reputation option is deselected and while the tooltip info works when I hover over with the mouse I cannot select the box. In my experience window it is selected but again as above I cannot click it. Also the check boxes below that do work kind of. I have to hover the mouse just below and outside the check box to be able to click the box. This is what I found at the moment.

I'm close to finishing updates for the XP, Rep and Money BarMath plugins, (which will be posted soon as separate addons) but the core BarMath addon is still being worked on so it will work with vehicles.

The problem is, WoW wants to set the actionbars to X height, where it assumes the XP and possibly the Rep bar would be. BarMath has to over-ride this to get it so it will be the proper height for the extra bars, or (since you can now move the bars anywhere) no bars at all between the actionbars and the main menu.
I was able to make work-arounds for it, but I didn't take the new vehicle system into account (cause I didn't really playtest on the beta) and thus, BarMath is Fubaring the system, trying to make things work right.
I'm working on it, cause this is a doozie of a bug. I got it so it works fine while out of combat, but switching back while in combat still causes the menu-offscreen bug...

Kjasi, I've been thinking... if there was a way to choose to relocate the bars (say, across the top of the screen or fit under the portrait) it may stop interfering with the alternative interfaces in 3.0+

First off, thank you. I'm glad you like BarMath, and I'm hoping to come up with some great new additions to it soon.
As for your bug, maybe it's the 2.0.4 version I'm working with, but I haven't gotten this bug, and as I'm leveling my Mage, I keep running out of rested! I'll bring it up and keep an eye on it today while I'm leveling.

First off, wanted to say that I love BarMath. Dominos replaces my action bars and experience bar. Wasn't happy with Dominos' experience bar (never knew how many bars to level), so I went with BarMath. Works great, most of the time... I've noticed that whenever I run out of rested XP, BarMath freezes (for lack of a better word). It doesn't update my experience or anything. I have to show Parent Bar to get it to update. Seems kind of like it will only update if I'm rested; not 100% sure if it works normally while I'm not rested as I try not to play unrested. Just wanted to give a heads up or see if anyone had a solution. Thanks for the great addon!

@Kokodhem & Sp1d3y: I've noticed this too, and have been trying to lock down what happens & how to fix it. The hard part is, outside of those quests or being in the Strand of the Ancients, it's hard to get that interface on a consistent basis. (There is a daily, however, that I just got, so I'll be doing a LOT of testing tomorrow!) I've also been having problem with getting the bug on a consistent basis.
I'm looking more in-depth to it now, while I am also working on updates for RepBar and XPBar.

I _think_ what sp1d3y is trying to describe is what I came to bug-report: I am fairly certain that BarMath is fubarring the interface every time I do one of the new activities that alters the button layouts (ie. ride a tank, ride a kodo in the Borean Tundra quest outside of Warsong, or aqcuire the mount for death nights.) I lose the riding buttons, or can't get rid of them in one case, and it requires constantly having to /rl to correct it. Shut off BarMath and now I don't seem to have a problem.
But I LOVE BarMath and look forward to using it again if you can fix it.

seems the bug with pet bar is back... Tried this with my warlock and the pet bar displayed under the left action bar.

Several of the changes I tried to make ended up breaking it. By applying the changes from 2.0.1 and 2.0.2 to a copy of 2.0.0, I was able removed some of those changes, but keep the fixes & additions I needed.

getting a lil antsy any news on the fix for it disappearing from screen everytime (randomly) i log out i know about When first logging on, the BarMath Bars will not appear until you update their data, or (a much faster method) turn the parent bar on and off}. but it still randomly goes bye bye however the cast bar fix was dead on thanks.. just wondering

I love it too... And I broke it worse while trying to fix it. (currently have it disabled.) Got some things working so I'm gonna see if I can copy/paste the fixes I know into 2.0.1 and see how it works.

Actually, I know exactly what the problem is with the 2.0.1 "breakage", just not quite how to fix it yet. (Gonna work on that tonight.) It stems from the database update program I wrote. It was working fine in Beta, dunno what's causing it to get haywire right now...
A work around you can use for now: Delete your BarMath.lua from your (Wow Directory)/WTF/(Account Name)/SavedVariables folder, and restart WoW with BarMath enabled. You'll only have to do this once. If I can't fix it, you might have to do it the next time there's an update. (I'll list it as a bug if that's so.)
For those of you dealing with Castbar and PetBar issues, I'm working to fix those problems as quickly as I can. Please either hang on, or disable BarMath for now.

I got some lua errors from it (sent a pm with them already), but based on the lack of "BarMath: * loaded!" messages, I'd say BarMath can't load or use the individual addons anymore.

been using this since 1.86 and the cast bar was centered and money showed up...justthe 3.02 version is messed up not trying to tell u how to do this addon i have no clue.....but all other versions worked perfectly
i did however get the money to show but cast bar is above my bagsand gryphons

Would it be possible to shrink the "Snap To" zone, or give an option to disable it. I use Dominos to remove the default Blizzard Icon bars and would like to put BarMath at the very bottom of the screen. However, it always snaps to the default location when you get anywhere near it.

I just found a minor bug that will not let the bars show up properly when you first log in. To fix this, open the options, and hit the "Reset Parent Bar" button. This will make the bars show up.
Okay... For the cast bar, I'm not sure why it's doing that, but it should return to normal after resetting the Parent bar. If it's still off to the side, log out then back in again. That should fix it. I'll see what I can do about fixing this problem for first-time users soon.
As for the money Bar not showing up, have you set a Global target? If you have, and it's still not showing up, then I'm not sure what's happening... I'll look into it.

it moves the cast bar to odd places like whne you make bandages or fish the bar is to the left over the chat area or the right over the bars an the money bar doesnt show up no matter what i do

With today's announcement of WotLK's release date, (Nov 13th) I've decided to stop work on the 2.4.x edition of BarMath 2.0, and instead, focus all my efforts into a 3.0.1 release.
I feel that I'm about 95% there, in that I have 1 major functionality issue to finish building, and a recently discovered major bug to correct. At which point, BarMath 2.0 will be done, and then I'll have to finish work on XPBar 1.0, RepBar 1.0, and MoneyBar 1.0 and their UI.
With this 2-month time-frame, I'm also hoping to add in the "omitted" functions that were originally going to be added in 2.1, but we'll see how long it takes for me to get the function and the major bug dealt with. The 3 Bar plugins may be a bit "underdone" if it takes too much time...
Well, back to work. I'll see you all when WotLK comes out!

Progress report:
Since I got into the Beta, I've been working on building the new UI for BarMath 2.0 in that for quite some time. My plan is to finishing it in WotLK, then back-port the UI to 2.4, (assuming I finish before WotLK comes out) then I plow into BarMath 2.1, which is the WotLK Edition, with several features I wanted to add to 2.0, but didn't have time for! But, things to look forwards to in 2.0:
One of the two biggest changes is moveable bars. Yes, the bars will have their own window that can be moved anywhere on the screen! I've added a "snap-to" zone where the bars originally were, since I think they work best there. This innovation has led to our second big change:
Bar Plugins! Yes, my fellow addon authors can now write easy addons that will plug into BarMath's new code structure, allowing it to build new bars based on whatever the author codes into it! How do I know this will work? XP, Rep and MoneyBar have all been pulled out of BarMath, and made into their own Plugins for BarMath. These three will also serve as examples for other Bar Plugins.
One of the cool new features I just finished is The Character List. This page will let you view and manage your Characters' BarMath variables. This includes deleting a characters variables. (This works with the MoneyBar too, so no more "orphan money" screwing up the MoneyBar.)
I did spend about 20 minutes trying to back-port just the bar code from 2.0 to 1.8.6, to see if I pound out a 1.9, but the code is just too different to make it a viable option. (I could probably just finish 2.0 in the amount of time it'd take me to make a 1.9!)
Well, time to go back to slaving over Notepad and see if I can quickly finish the UI so I can release BarMath 2.0! I'll Comment again when we get closer to releasing 2.0!

I appreciate your enthusiasm, and your willingness to help, but I'm not yet finished with internal testing/building the user interface. All the code for Barmath 2.0 is there, and working very well, I just need to do all inteface stuff so you can actually USE it, without manually editing the options file...

Virtually all of the current problems will be fixed with 2.0, which I'm currently working on. I tried spending time to fix problems with the current version, but I decided to scrap that idea, and focus on 2.0 instead.
BarMath is being rebuilt from the ground up for many, many, MANY advancements, new features, fixes, etc. I'm still working on the core program, but I want to have it ready to go by the end of the month. (Since that's when my WoW time card expires.) The XP bar and Rep bar have been installed, (not fully featured yet, but they're running) and I'm looking into the Money bar next.
I've been doing extensive testing on my druid (which uses a bar similar to the pet bar) and it seems to be working well. I'll be jumping on my hunter for testing after I get some more in-game controls fleshed out.
Until then, I'm afraid people are going to have to live with the current errors and issues. But fret not, for 2.0 will be here soon! (In one form or another...)

Me too. And now that I have 60 days to play, I plan to spend a few of those days finalizing, and killing any bugs for a new release!

Development has temporarily stopped, as I literally can't afford to reactivate my account.
As I said earlier, I've removed the taint, but it broke other things. I wasn't able to fix it before my account expired. And I was more worried about paying for my car than playing WoW...

Okay, got some good news, and some bad news. The good news is, I've finally irradicated the taint! The bad news is, I've seem to have broken the bags. So once I've fixed them, I'll post the new version!

Nice mod, but it causes problems with some "pet bars". Try using a "Steam Tonk Controller" with BarMath loaded to see what I mean.

Hmm. I shall check out the addon (I've got a hunter too, so...) and see if I can make things work.
You're right about the moving the bars and stuff. BarMath is moving a lot of bars so the moneybar will works with everything.
It very well could be that since AA puts things in the Shapeshift bar, and since BarMath moves both the SSBar and the Petbar to almost next to the same place, there's some bad overlap happening...

Ah, cool. Just had the pet bar dropping issues, and came here to contact you about it, but I see you are on it. However, I would like to mention (and fixing it for others I know is first priority) but I use the mod Aspected Again for my hunter, and it works fine by itself, but when your BarMath is loaded, it's not able to move the combat bar to the center as it normally does. So, maybe your mod is moving the toolbars around also? Something I thought is maybe the "optional money bar" is the problem? I mean I'm not a modder, I know nothing about this stuff, I'm just throwing out ideas. Seems to me adding extra text shouldn't cause these issues, but adding that extra bar very possibly could.

Okay, the map thing is new to me...
I know of these combat-issues, and I'm working to deal with them as quickly as I can find them. The biggest issue is: You can't change the interface during combat anymore, without causing "taint". This has been one of my biggest fights lately with Bliz's code.
But I'm pushing through it. Hopefully I'll have another patch ready to go soon. If not, I'll try to keep you guys up to date.

A similar problem happens for me as well,but only with the Special Action Bar (Druid's shapeshifts,etc.) and only when I open my map.It actually pushes this special action bar downwards, so that it cannot be seen if you have the Bottom Left Action Bar enabled.
The only solution I found for this was disabling this mod entirely.
On a side note the special action bar rises up again if you actually manage to push a button from it, but goes down again if I open my map
And yes, I also have the newest version

I can't figure out a way to reproduce it faithfully, but I do believe that combat reproduces this...The action bars are pushed down during combat and then when you run your mouse over the EXP bar (All I have is the EXP bar with text always on it) the action bars rise a few pixels.
And yes, I am updated to the newest version.
EDIT: Yeah, it's combat, I finally caught it. Basically, upon combat it drops down and then once you run your mouse over the EXP bar it reverts the action bars back to their rightful position.

Open the options panel (use the minimap button, or type /barmath) and go to the money tab. Where it says "Set Money Target" type in how much money you want to save up for. As soon as you hit enter, the moneybar will show up. At that point, it's just like every other BarMath bar.

I'm trying to resolve some issues (not the taint issues) before I release it. I've been working to fix an error where the action bars will drop down into the moneybar during combat. I really want to kill this bug before I release 1.8.5, but if I can't soon, I'll just release it as is.

Just now looked at my taint log. Dayum! I'll get to work on this for now, but besides the taint issue, it seems to be working just fine.
1.8.5 will be out when I've finished fixing the taint issue. It's got a lot of bugfixes, but not many new features.

I'm having an error message caused by BarMath. I did some research. The error I'm getting is 'An Interface Action Failed Because of an Addon'. In my taint log, BarMath is causing this error message. The addon needs to be updated please. I love using this but I will have to disable it til an update is made.

Actually, I came up with a way to resolve the issue, both with DMB and TedNik's TidyMinimap addon. It'll be in the next release. The issue was, the minimap image wasn't parented to the minimap border. I've since fixed this. Works great in DMB now. Not sure about Tidy, but I don't think there'll be a problem.

Kjasi, sure enough it was detachminibuttons that was screwin with it....when I disabled DMB's the art work cleared up, then when I re-enabled DMB's the art stayed gone...lol Not sure if that is enough info for ya. I'm using DMB's ver 0.9.40 from Nov 1, 2007... thanks again and keep up the great work.

Just wondering if it is possible to merge the 2 minimap images into one image. as i use tidyminimap and when i add the button to be picked up in tidyminimap all it shows is the main image without the border on the button. this makes the button kinda hard to see without the border.

Holy Frack! WTF is going on?! Blizz must of changed something in there when I wasn't looking, cause I haven't gotten this error, ever.

Edit: I've uploaded 1.8.2, which should remove the taint issues. I'm not sure since I have never gotten these taint issues to begin with. If it's still there, then I'm gonna need some more info. (We can MSG about it.)

ick! Damn. Well, that should be a 1-time bug. (It tried to update the database without there BEING a database. But by the end of it's run, it should have already finished generating that database.)
I'll make a patch so other's don't get that problem.
