If you're a warlock with Improved Drain Soul you'll probably find yourself generating too many shards as you use Drain Soul to get mana back at the end of a fight. This addon solves that that problem by deleting excess shards automatically. Uses ACE3.

Usage:

/sm to open the GUI. Click on the to expand the options. In there are settings for:

1. The maximum number of shards to keep (set this to 0 for no limit)

2. The number of spare slots in your bags to keep free. Shards will be automatically deleted to keep this number of slots free

3. The minimum number of shards to keep. Used in conjunction with the spare setting to ensure you don't get your entire supply cleared out if your bags get full.

4. Profiles for saving values.

There is also a 'Delete Now' button with a slider that sets how many to delete. Default is 1.

Can also bypass the GUI and set values or delete shards from a cmdline

I don't know what that jerk was smoking. This is one of my core long-time must have mods. It works perfectly, and is more useful than ever with the new changes to create extra soul shards on the fly. It makes leveling my 'locks so much more convenient. I always get the biggest normal bags I can afford, and set it to keep 8 shards, enough to use several shards in a row if needed, without bogarting my bags. Thanks for creating and maintaining this great helper.

doctorknow - I continue to find this mod very useful because (a) I don't carry a shard bag and (b) I don't want 32 shards. I have not noticed any problems at all with shard management. Anyway, if you don't need this mod any more then please delete it.

since blizzard screwed us with the patch that lets you have only 32 shards this mod has no value or benefit at all. it will not delete shards or keep track of how many shards you have. i am sad to see what was a useful tool reduced to buggy code that serves no function.

For those of you that would rather use a macro then adding another addon to your memory usage, this macro does the same thing. I use this a lot. Try this out, just replace the X with the number of slots in your shard bag. /run PickupContainerItem(4,"x");DeleteCursorItem();

Iridium - Looking at the code, it shouldn't get confused between Corrupted Soul Shards, Soul Shards or any other type of shard. It looks for "[Soul Shard]" in the item description. What message are you getting please? If it's really "Soul Shard!" then it's not my addon putting it out.

Harvesting Corrupted Soul Shards from the creatures in Felwood (Plants-Cleansing Quest) also triggers the Soul Shard! message. No big deal, but a bug nevertheless. otherwise, thanks for this addon. it is great!

zocq - thanks for the problem report. I'll investigate. Edit - I think I see the problem. If this is on a non-warlock character then the addon spots it and disables itself for the next time you login - however it leaves itself in a slightly incorrect state for the remainder of that session. Should be easy to fix.

Great addon for my warlock, but there's a minor error when logging in with a character that has no shards in its bags.
