Guild Help Addon - Release 3.10

Introduction
------------

This WOW add-on is aimed at keeping track of requests for help within a guild.

Sometime guild members ask me to help them with quests/grinding etc. I am am unable to help immediately, this will remember requests made for help through out the guild. The features are:-
- Allows guild members to send requests for help.
- Requests can be free text, a quest from the quest log or a dungeon from the list.
- Notifies all guild member running guild help of current requests.
- Lists all guild members and their requests.
- Groups guild members by local (in same zone) or remote(other zones).
- Your requests are stored when you exit so that they are automatically posted when you next login.
- The ability to request a refresh of requests from all players running the add-on.
- Isolated to the guild so no sneak requests from outside the guild.
- Keyboard binding to allow the show and hide of the dialog.
- The ability to "answer" a request, sending a whisper to the requester.
- Notification when new requests are received (chat message and sound).
- Integration with FuBar.
- Standard Interface options screen

Command Lines
-------------

Type “/gh” or “/ghelp” to show command line options.

“/gh show” - Shows the guild help window.
“/gh hide” - Hides the guild help window.

On load is too early as I need to ensure any save setting have been loaded. I found the bug where it was running a check (legacy) too early. I have moved it and tested and all should be fine. Only affected new users (which is why i did not spot it). Thanks for the feedback.

Hi Lintydruid, I've come across a problem when this is a fresh install (no savedvariables). Upon load, it seems to run through the ghelp_gen() function and it crashes on line 307 when it tries to reference ghelp_options. The problem is at this point that variable is still null. I would recommend calling the guildhelp_SaveSettingsFix() function from the OnLoad function, rather than OnEvent. This way it initializes the options variable before ghelp_gen() is run. Thanks.

Apologies for taking such a long time to get back to this addon. I have made it 3.1 compatible and changed the format a little. I will look at enhance enhancements soon.

Maziel. Notice the tool tip hide was missing, will update. Kang, Will look a shift-click option ... you can always use the command line "/gh help me with <shift-click quest>" in the mean time. Will modify to multi language for next version. Your help would be welcome. Also planning to add a bind key. Will make the minimap/guild button optional in next release.

Had to modify your mod for my own guildies preferences as well as my own likes removing the minimap icon (too much clutter around minimap with other mods for us). Placed the help button back into guild form (can move it so bank mod buttons show up). And lastly had to add: <OnLeave> GameTooltip:Hide() </OnLeave> in your xml so the tooltip will hide when the mouse leaves or it stays up. ~ In any case, good mod, thanks for the update. Wish you well on future mods. :)

Is it possible to add an Schiftklick Ability for adding Questnames out of the Questlog. And can we help you adding new Languages like German. I can send u the prevented Text for the last if you will add this.

the command is "/gh" (without the quotes), you type it into your chat window.

Linty Druid, I have modified this Add-on of yours so that a 'Help' button integrates with the Blizzard Guild Panel and upon clicking this 'Help' button, opens up your GuildHelp UI. Pretty much shows up like: http://www.wow-elders.com/HelpMe.png Here is a quick link for you to grab and try it out. I like this mod, works well. I'd like to see something other than a /gh command though. o.O Perhaps a minimap icon? Or what would be the best option in my opinion (if possible) is to attach a 'Help Me' button inside the Guild panel which toggles the GuildHelp GUI you have there. Example: http://www.wow-elders.com/HelpMe.png Just a thought/request. =)
